Conor turns ten

TEN YEARS OLD

TWO YEARS OLD

It seems like just yesterday that we were back in College expecting our first child.
I remember what it was like those days, dreaming of what our child would look like and what he would grow up to become. And all the unknowns of parenthood! We were truly blessed with Conor being our first child, he gave us new parents and easy path into parenthood with his calm easygoing personality. We are so proud of what he's become and what he's come through in these first ten years of his life. He was diagnosed at the age of six with Juvenile Diabetes and faced many things a child should never have to go through. He has grown into a responsible young man, a loving big brother, excellent student, and all around athlete. I couldn't be more proud of who he is and what he's become and just hope that the next ten years bring more good times and success for the future.

Conor's Birthday Zoo trip

Conor had his Diabetes appointment up at OHSU today. So we made a trip out of it. We have a Zoo membership so we get in free all year, so this was our fourth trip since March. It was cold today, but I found it to a very enjoyable visit. Our favorites spots were visiting the Elephants and seeing the new baby and as always the Apes. We finished the day off by meeting Sean & Anna at the Spaghetti Factory (Conor's Choice) and had a great meal.

Shots today

We'll I put it off as long as I could. Steve and I needed shots for our travel in China and since the shots were part of a series we needed to get started. Well after speaking with the nurse we learned that Steve was behind on two other shots. So poor Steve ended up getting three different types of vaccines luckily they could combine two and he only had to get stuck twice. Chase went along with us and he told the nurse he wanted mom to get the two shot not dad, I said "what", I think he just felt sorry for poor dad.

Veteren's Day

We'll it was a cold and rainy day. We started out at Franks home and the kids sang him a song and also sang another Veteren living with Frank a song too. We then found a good dry spot under a bridge to watch the Veteren's parade. We then went to Red Robin's where we told them it was Conor's birthday and he got a free icecream and shared it with the rest of the boys.

HAPPY VETERENS DAY

Were off to go watch the annual veterens day parade. We are also going to stop by and let the kids sing great great Uncle Frank some songs about America and Freedom since Uncle Frank is a Veteren.

I will post the pictures later today.

fish hachery

My mom heard through a friend that there was a really neat art event happening near Alsea Fish Hachery. We ended up arriving there about 1:00 pm, went on a tour of the hachery and then did two art projects. The first one the kids painted on realy fish, squid, stingrays and octopus and transfered it to fabric. Chase and Parker really enjoyed it, and Conor wasn't to sure about touching any of the fish. THen we went and did watercolor painting the kids art work turned out so good that I will probably end up framing them and puting them in their rooms.

Halloween

Happy Halloween!!! Boy did we have a busy day. Started out with the kids costume parade at the school, then home for a couple hours, then to the retirement home where Parker's class performed, then back to the school to Conor's class party, then to Parker's class party. Not done yet, then downtown trick or treat, neighborhood and school party!! The kids and us were exhausted by the time we got home. They even stayed up a little longer to give out candy to our neighbor kids and kids from school. The boys were all originally suppose to be football players, Conor Seahawks, Parker Dallas Cowboys, and Chase OSU Beavers. Well Steve's spray paint helmet job didn't take and so Chase change his mind to be Batman. He continued to change his mind everytime we came home, so in the end he was Batman, then spiderman, and finally a Seahawks football player ( he's still wearing it today we can't get him to change)!

Sandy & Adrien joined us that afternoon for trick or treating!
