Spending time with family

We have been blessed to spend some time with family from Georgia this last week.  On Friday night we drove up to Mary's Peak to get some pictures.  Saturday the girls went shopping in Newport and then met up in Dallas for dinner with all the family.  Todays, we went to the breakfast feed in Dallas and then walked around the park to the different booths.  We ended the day with shopping at the outlet, a yummy dinner and smores!

Georgia Family

Were having a fun week visiting with our family from Georgia.  They arrived on Tuesday night and will be here for a whole week.  They came to visit my grandpa who was recently placed in a Memory care facility. Joanne is my grandpa's sister and Cindy is her daughter.

Day 9 Headed home

Today we headed towards home, but not without a stop to visit Grandpa Robin's Uncle Pat and Aunt Rochelle in Penn Valley.  We had a great time visiting and touring their house and also learning about their ancestors.  She made us a delicious meal and then it was time to head north.  Tomorrow we will make the final journey to our house and will leave Grandma and Grandpa.  It was a great trip with lots of fun moments and quality family time that I will never forget.  Each day brought new adventures and laughs.  The kids were good for the most part and kept their fighting to a minimum.

Day 8 Sacramento

Today was our last full day of sightseeing.  We arrived early to the hotel but they had two rooms ready so they let us check in early.  We unloaded the van and then walked across the street to the Train Museum.  We've been to this museum before back in spring break 2009, and I knew that Steve and his dad would enjoy it.  After spending some time at the museum we walked around old town Sacramento.  It was really hot so we didn't stay long so that the kids would have some time swimming in the pool.  We let the kids swim for about an hour and then cleaned up for dinner.  We walked back to Old town to Joe's crab shack.   While eating dinner we spotted a guy who looked like Rod Stewart sitting behind grandpa Robin.  Later people started asking for pictures with him and getting his autograph.  So we went and got a picture with him and he signed a napkin for Chase.  We don't believe it was the real Rod Stewart because he was missing a mole near his mouth and he was shorter than he should have been.  Grandma Susan also got to skip around the restaurant with a broom and witches hat for her Birthday.  After eating we walked around the rest of Old town and then went to bed early.

Day 7 San Francisco

Today we had a short ride to Downtown San Francisco.  It was scary maneuvering in downtown and finding a parking spot.  Steve's van is taller than most parking garages.  Finally we found the perfect spot but it cost us a little more money.  We bought tickets to do the double decker buses tour.  We stopped for a quick lunch at Mcdonalds and then caught the bus at the first stop.  We rode the bus until the Golden Gate Bridge and then walked across the bridge.  The walk was a lot longer than I thought it was going to be.  Zoe was tired and Steve ended carrying her part of the time.  We made it though!  After walking across we continued the bus tour.  We got off at the last stop and found the Rainforest Cafe we had spotted earlier  It was a cool dinner with Elephants right behind us while we ate. This was another first for grandma and grandpa.  We could have done without the bill though, over a hundred dollars for the meal.  We then walked to Pier 39 so that Parker could get his drum sticks from Hard Rock Cafe.  I learned that AAA gets you a 10% discount here!  Chase got some golf balls and Conor a knife, Zoe a mirror makeup compact.   Now were relaxing in our hotel room and washing some laundry.
