Thankful!

We spent the remainder of Thanksgiving weekend three hours south in our hometown.  We got to see more family, grandparents, great-grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles.   I didn't get a chance to get everyones picture, but I did get the kids with my grandparents.

One year Gotcha day celebration!

One year ago in a busy room in Guangzhou China

We met our baby girl for the first time

She cried when I first held her

But settled down pretty quickly when we
                                   started feeding her snacks.

She was everything we dreamed of, our perfect little girl!

She had her sad times in the beginning but they were          pretty short and far between.

That day her life changed forever, she began to learn the love of a mother and father.

One year later, she has changed so much.  Experienced many firsts and accomplished many things.

She is happy, funny, beautiful, proud and smart

And we thank God everyday for choosing us to be her family

To be able to watch her grow and change.

WE LOVE YOU BABY GIRL!!!

If you haven't seen Zoe's Gotcha video you can watch it Here

We also had our appointment with her ENS doctor and I'll will post more on this later.
We let her make the Hello Kitty doll at Build a bear and then found the matching dress at Macy's, let's just say this girl loves dresses!

This morning feeding the kids breakfast!

A sleepover with seven 12 year old boys last night.  It was Conor's 12th  birthday party and he wanted the kids to stay the night.  They were all great kids and we even got to sleep!  The little ones stayed at my moms house and it made it really nice.

Honor roll assembly

Today by oldest boy turns 12.... How did the time fly by so fast? Seems like yesterday he was a toddler and now 12.  He's accomplished alot in the last year.   Last year we missed his birthday, because we were all the way around the world in China getting his baby sister.  He's been the best big brother to her, somethimes at the wrong times (when she's in trouble)!  He started sixth grade this fall and we attend his first Honor Roll assembly today on his birthday!  Were so proud of him, he even got an award for not missing a single day of school.  And then there is his Diabetic pump that he just started on two weeks ago.  It has been a life change for him, for the better eventually, but right now we have to wake up several times a night to check his blood sugar.  He's been tough through it all.  He's a smart, funny, athletic, talented, artistic and creative boy and I'm so proud to call him my son.  Happy 12th Birthday Conor!

Conor has the pump!

We had our appointment on friday and after three hours of education Conor got hooked up to the Diabetic pump.  Of course it was only Saline for this weekend, their testing us to see how well we do.  We go back tomorrow and he will recieve insulin through the pump from then on.   We have a rough month ahead of us.  We have a new routine to adjust to and we have multiple blood sugar checks throughout the night 12, 3, and 6 am every day for a month.

Conor giving his insulin shot in his leg, he won't be doing this anymore!!

Dad wore the pump also all weekend to see what it's like
