Skipping with Anna

My brother and sister-in-law were down this weekend to watch the kids games and also spend some pre-birthday time with my dad.  While the boys were golfing today the girls went for a mini photo shoot.  Anna's opening up her own private counseling practice in Portland and needed a few head shots and I was happy to oblige.

Open house at the Schools

Yes I said Schools, in fact we had three different Open Houses to attend tonight.  We started off with Parker and visited his 4th grade classroom.  Then we were off to the primary school to visit Chase's class.  And last but not least the middle school for Conor.  And just think in two years it will be 4 different schools....

Zoe's first day of Preschool

Zoe had her first day of Preschool on Monday and of course did great!
Notice her lips (she got into the lipstick when I wasn't looking)

Okay mom enough with the pictures

Now I'm getting the rolled eyes

preschool is so much fun!

Kaylie & Zoe ready for their first day!

Football season is here!

Conor played in a couple short games in a football Jamboree this last weekend.  The boy loves football!  Which is still very strange to me since you can't  touch him without him complaining and now he's tackling and being tackled.   Guess it's a boy thing????   The other two boys start soccer this weekend, I can't wait to see how Chase does.

More good news and expensive band equipment

First off I finally got the CT results at about 6 pm tonight.  The doctor said that Zoe's inner ear is completely normal and that all she's missing is the canal.  We feel totally blessed and feel so happy.  I will be making an appointment with the specialist in the next month or so to find out where we go from here.

Second, Conor started middle school last week and with middle school comes Band.  Steve or I never played an instrument so we really had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.  We had the parent meeting last night and purchased his Saxophone today.  I couldn't bleive how much instruments run, let's just say I probably could have got my new bedroom set for the amount we paid.  I already told Steve that all of our kids will be playing the Saxophone in band so that we don't have to spend this kind of money again.

Good News!!!

Zoe had her hearing test up at OHSU and catscan for her Right ear microtia/atresia.   She can hear out of her right ear!   In fact pretty good considering the canal is closed.   The best news was that she didn't need to be put under for the ABR test, she now understands instructions well enough and was able to put the pegs in the pegboard when she heard hear a sound.   The Audiologist was so moved by how Zoe did and that she had hearing in the right ear that she almost started crying.  We get the results to the CT scan tomorrow, so hopefully the good news continues!
Waiting to be called back

The horse I just bought for her ( she loves Belle and horses and this was a Belle Horse)

Labor Day weekend

Thanks to a great co-worker who offered to take my call this weekend I was able to make it to my Aunt Geneva's house for a small family reunion.

Happy 30th Birthday little brother

We had a great dinner with Anna & Sean last night for his 30th Birthday.   I still can't believe my little brother is 30!!

First day of school

Conor had his first day of Middle School on Monday and I think I was more scared than he was.   His response to how his day was " They have good food", only a growning boy would think of that first.

Parker had his first day of 4th grade on Monday and he said it went great.   When he got home the first day he told grandma that he thinks he's going to do really good in school this year, I hope this is true!

Chase had his first day of school on Wednesday.  When I picked him up and asked him how his day went he said "bad".  Apparently there is another little boy in his class that gets in trouble a lot and was spitting and hitting.

Little Sister had to get in on the photo action even though she doesn't start school for another week and half.

Chase in his class the first day!
