We went up to Portland for Conor's Diabetes appt. today.  We received good news about his blood sugars, it's seems that the pump is helping his levels stay down.   We went for a short trip to the zoo, all we really had time for was riding the train.   We had an appt at Picture People in salem for Zoe's pictures.  She did really good posing once again, she just had a problem looking at the camera.  I think we got some good shots though.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Bears and wolves

Our last half day in West Yellowstone was spent at a Bear and Wolf sanctuary.  We seen six different grizzly bears and two different packs of wolves.   One wolf pulled a fish out of the pond ate it in front of us.   The boys were also part of a keeper program and got to be part of feeding the grizzly bears.  They got to go into the habitat and hide food under rocks for the bears to find.  After leaving here we did some last minute shopping in West Yellowstone and then we were on our way back to Boise, Idaho.  We stayed last night near downtown Boise.  We stopped today at the John Day fossil beds and the Painted Hills which were very beautiful and fascinating.  We are now spending our last night with my aunt and uncle in Prineville, Oregon.   We will head for home tomorrow!

Were on our way home.  I have a few more pictures from our last day in West Yellowstone but will wait until I get home to post since it takes so long.    Were are stopping at the John Day fossil beds to let the kids dig and then staying the night at my aunt and uncles house.   Then Saturday around noon we will head on home.  It's been a great trip.  The kids were good for the most part, there have been alot of bathroom stops and lots of emergency bathroom stops but it's all good.

Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday but we got back really late and I was way to tired.   We visited the bottom half of Yellowstone yesterday.  First stop was a short trail to some geysers and painted pots and then we were off to see Old Faithful.  We arrived 15 minutes after it had just went off so we had to wait a little for the next show.  While we were waiting we checked out the Old Faithful lodge and giftshop.   We got outside about 30 minutes before it was set to go off and got our seats.   There was an old woman who went off the path looking at flowers and didn't realize she was really close to the geyser, Parker video taped her because he wanted to report her, luckily a family member called her back before it went off.    Then we were off to see the Grand Tetons which are some really beautiful mountains along a large lake.   After eating our lunch at one of the picnic areas we then went on into Jackson hole, which his a small skiing town that has a lot of cute shops and things to do.  We all went on the Alpine slides, we had ride up the ski lift to the top of the mountain and rode sleds down the mountain.   Zoe rode with me, Chase rode with my mom and the boys and Steve had their own.   I took it slow and so did my mom, however Steve flew down the hill and I was afraid he was going to crash.   Steve stopped just in time and Parker took another two minutes to make it down the hill, poor guy couldn't figure out how to speed up.   After leaving Jackson Hole we finished up the loop of Yellowstone.  We seen a few more animals, a coyote, lots of buffalo, elk and deer.  We never did get to see the grizzly bear or moose.   Here are some pictures from the day.

We toured the upper part of Yellowstone today.   We went on many walks, seen lots of geysers and hot bubbling waters.  We drove all the way up to Mammoth Springs and had a nice ice cream before heading back.  We seen two black bears, several elk, a black wolf, 2 deer, blue heron and a bald eagle.  We are really tired from all the walking an were all sunburned ( I'm a bad mom I forgot to put it on this morning).   Were off to the Grand Tetons and Jaskson Hole tomorrow,  and of course Old Faithful.  Enjoy the pictures from today.

We're in West Yellowstone, Montana

We finally made it after a full day of traveling.  I'm having problems posting with the internet here so I'm not sure how this is going to work.   We stopped a few places on the way.   We took a look around Craters of the Moon a volcanic site, We ate lunch in Arco Idaho the site of they first used Nuclear for energy to light the town.  Then we stopped by some really big falls called Mesa Falls just before we made it into town.  We got here right around dinner time and went straight to find something to eat.  We ate at the Outpost which was good but a little pricey as is everything here.  We will venture out to the park tomorrow.
