A Family Day

We had a laid back day today.  It started with church with my in-laws. Then we picked up a pizza and brought it to my grandparents house.  We stayed and visited a while and the kids had fun looking for turkey feathers, lizards and caterpillars.  They even found a bunny that was trapped in the back yard and released it.  Then we took a little break and then walked around downtown looking at the bear statues.

Here's the pictures from today.

Boatnik

We finally got to get away for the weekend.  Since soccer is done we don't have anymore weekend commitments going on.  It's been awhile since we've been to boatnik, the last time was here.  Things have changed so much since then.  Last time we were a big ol happy family, since then there has been a divorce ( my cousin & his wife) and my Grandparents have isolated themselves for the last 2 1/2 years not talking to most of the family.    It's very sad and I try not to think about it to much or it makes me too upset.
On the happier note, were visiting with my in-laws which has been fun.  They also live in the same town.  Today we went to the Parade and the kids got tons of candy. We also ventured down to the park where all of the activities were going on.  We watched the boat races for a while and then just walked around.  The kids bugged to ride on the rides, but with the price of $27.00 an armband we passed.  They will be at Disney World in just over a month.    Here's some pictures from the parade and the park.

Gymnastics & Baseball

Everything is coming to an end for the year.  Zoe had her last home speech class yesterday, Debbie her speech therapist has been visiting us for the last two years at home.  Next year she will only recieve speech theraphy at school.  Yesterday was also Zoe's last gymnastics class, they only do camps during the summer.  She will be performing in a fun meet the first weekend in June.  She was moved up to level two just before the season ended, so will start out in level two next September.  She is amazing at Gymnastics and I can see her going far in it.  She has two more Ballet classes and then ends with a recital on June 8th.  I'm looking forward to a laid back summer, but we'll see what happens.
Baseball started last week for the older two and then the younger ones will start next week.  We will have all four kids in baseball, plus I play Softball on a city league.  So the fun begins!

We have about four weeks left before we leave on vacation, we are all looking forward to this.  We will be in Georgia for a week and then will spend the last week at Disney World with our friends the Barton family we met in China!

Heres some pictures from yesterday.

Farm field trip!

This time I went on a field trip with Chase's 1st grade class.  Meanwhile Steve was on another field trip with Parker's class to watch a play in Portland and Conor had a field trip also.  We started out at the OSU Dairy farm, a very smelly place.  The kids learned about the process of milk.  Then we went about 15 miles out of town to a private farm and visited a the home of a retired teacher.  The kids absolutely loved this!  They got to feed sheep, chickens and alpaca's.  The boys got to pretend they had bow and arrows and went hunting!

Baseball tournament

We'll baseball has officially started and so has the warm sunny weather.  We had a full seven hour day of baseball on saturday with a BBQ in between the games.  We were loving the sunshine so much, and totally forgot to bring sunscreen.  So the kids have a nice tan now and I'm burned.  I bought sunscreen that night, I won't be letting that happen again.  Conor's team did good, they won the first game and lost the second one.  I think they were all worn out by the second game being in the sun all day.  Zoe made a friend with a little boy that's dad was the umpire.  Chase & Parker were busy kicking the soccer ball around, both of them had games the same day.  Next weekend will be the end of the soccer season and then it will be all about baseball.
