A day at OHSU

Conor & Zoe both had appointments at OHSU on friday.   Zoe was seeing the ENT specialist at 9 am and Conor a diabetes specialist at 3pm.    So we'll start with Zoe's appointment.  The doctor did the usual check over and looked at her right ear and told us again she had stage 3 Microtia (meaning she has no canal)   He went over all the surgeries that they could do and the pros and cons of each.   He had a audiologist come in mid appt to check her hearing and recomfirmed her hearing is normal in her left ear, but was unable to test the right ear.    He wants her to get a CT done to see her inner ear structures and then wants to do an ABR (hearing test using the bone) on her right ear.  This is all done while she is sedated and we will be there for most of the day.    Their working on getting this scheduled and it should be sometime in late august or early september when we have it done.

After Zoe's appointment we had a few hours to kiil, so we decided to go to a nearby mall.  We bought each of the kids something for the upcoming school year.   We ate at the Cheesecake factory and all their cheesecakes were half off since it was national cheesecake day, "score"!  We had a tasty meal and then headed back towards the hospital for Conor's appointment.

We decided to take the Tram up to the hospital and what a beautiful ride that was.  I was a bit scared since I'm terrified of heights but really enjoyed it.

Conor's appointment was long, but we accomplished a lot.  We have another appointment in two weeks to get him started on the pump, which he didn't want until coming back from camp.  We hope this will make his life easier and give him even more freedom.      Enjoy the pictures....

Water park fun

We decided to cool off at our local water park, a very mini version to the parks in Florida.
Zoe once again loved the water and would not stop going under.

Thank you Barton Family

While in Florida Zoe recieved a gift from the Barton family.  It was an adorable Tinkerbell outfit, the perfect gift for a girl who loves to dress up!

Can you tell this girl has spunk!

Old time photos

While at Seaside last week we took the kids to get their pictures taken.  Zoe LOVED dressing up and I think the boys really enjoyed it as well.  Of course I purchased the CD so that I could share this cuteness!

I love how she showed her little feet

Seaside

We picked Conor up from camp on friday and headed over to the beach for the day.  We had a good time!
They rode a carousal, a miniture train, pedal cars, and we all rode in a 6 seater bike around the city.  Let me tell you my legs were burning from the very beginning, we were quite the site riding around town with my oldest son steering!
