This was our last day in Redding and we took a tour of the Shasta Dam. My dad had a pair of fishing pliers in his back pocket when he went through the metal detector at the dam and Connie stayed behind to return them to the car. It was a very informational tour but the kids were a bit board. We had a great visit with Connie & family and I want to thank her for the fun times and good meals!!

SPRING BREAK DAY 6
This was our last day in Redding and we took a tour of the Shasta Dam. My dad had a pair of fishing pliers in his back pocket when he went through the metal detector at the dam and Connie stayed behind to return them to the car. It was a very informational tour but the kids were a bit board. We had a great visit with Connie & family and I want to thank her for the fun times and good meals!!
SPRING BREAK DAY 5
We decided to take a trip to the Shasta lake caverns. When I was fifteen years old I attemped this trip but by the time we made it to the caves I was so sick I couldn't go in. You take a boat across the lake, then ride on a bus straight up a hill and then hike in a cave for about an hour. All the boys did great, we had a bit of a scare with Conor he was low on sugar tablets and we didn't have any extra food for him in case he got low. We luckily rounded up a package of fruit snacks and he was great the whole trip.
spring break day 4
We took a trip to the State Capital building since Conor really wanted to take pictures of it. We found out that you could go inside, so we went in and wondered around. It was really beautiful inside with a high dome ceiling with lots of artistry and large wooden doors and fancy lights.
After that we went downtown to the Train museum. The boys really enjoyed learning all about the start of the railroad and learning the difference between a coal burner and wood burning train.
SPRING BREAK DAY 3
We drove down to Sacramento. We first went to the huge flea market. The boys loved this, they each had $15.00 and only spent about $5.00 since everything was so cheap. They got really tired about halfway through, and the weather got cold and windy so we didn't get to make it all the way. We then checked into a hotel, and went downtown to Parker's favorite JOES Crabs!! Parker ate his usual crab and Conor & Chase & I had shrimp. Parker told them it was his birthday and had to walk around in a pirates uniform.

SPRING BREAK DAY 1
We had a very busy spring break. I'm going to devide it up and post each day of our trip.
We left friday morning and spent the day with Great Grandma & Grandpa. We took a trip to Wildlife Images which is right down the road from their house. Conor was the photographer for our trip there. The kids really enjoyed seeing all the bears and birds.
