Fun with Grandma

Steve's mom has been up all week helping with the kids and so I decided to take her to the coast for the day today to treat her to some clam chowder and take her to the Aquarium.   Here's the pics from today!

Bike Rodeo results

I'm a little late announcing the Bike Rodeo results from last week here.  Both boys got fifth place in their class.  But Parker won a Bike, he was beyond excited.  Unfortunately the bike was way to big so we had to trade it in for a smaller one and it had to be ordered.   So yesterday it arrived and he was beaming!!!!

Swimming Lesson

Zoe & Chase have been taking swimming lessons and they have one week left.   Zoe is in water babies so one of us has to go in the water with her and Chase is in level one for the 5th time.   Yeah I said the 5th time the kid is so stubborn and won't go under the water, therefore never passing level one.   Zoe meanwhile LOVES the water, and constantly wants to go under.  She has absolutely no fear of the water, which on one hand is really scary.    I 'd like to know from other adoptive parents if this is common.   She really has no fear of anything really, she'll jump from way to high up, she go head first down slides, she'll swing higher than any two year I've ever seen and in gymnastics she'll walk on the balance beam without wanting assistance.  I'm thinking a lot of it is that she never got the chance to explore and do these things at a young age and therefore has yet to learn her bounderies.  I'd like to know how you can help teach this to a child, anyways I got way off the subject of swim lesson......   Here's some pictures from yesterday.

I know I know, I have four kids, but the last few weeks have been crazy.  We had three kids in baseball, two taking swim lessons, one in gymnastics, Me on a woman's softball team and coed, Steve on a coed team, end of the school stuff, Conor's graduation from 5th grade, and the list goes on.  I'm so looking forward to our vacation at Disney World and some good old florida sun!!!

Baseball fun at a Knight's Game

Conor's baseball team gave each of the kids two tickets to attend a Knights baseball game.  Steve's mom is in town so we decided that would all go.  I worked late so I met them all there.  Zoe didn't do well, she kept walking back and forth, bumping people in the backs and crying a lot.  She doesn't like things that require her to sit still very long.  We made it through all 9 innings,  but next time I think she'll stay with home with Grandma. Chase is!!!  After a horrible accident last June, you can read about it here, he finally got brave enough to try it again.   And what's amazing is he just got on the bike and went, we didn't have to run next to him, he just rode off.  He had difficulty at first getting starting but I showed him a few times and now he can get started all by himself.  He was so happy and I was so proud of him for overcoming such a fear.
