Quick trip to the Zoo

And Spring Break is already upon us.  I'm always amazed how fast the school year flies by.
Conor had an appointment up at OHSU so we decided to make a day of it in Portland and visit the Zoe one last time before our membership expires.  We rode the train first thing.   Ate our lunch on the quick ride around and then I asked each of the kids to pick an animal they wanted to see.  So we walked around to the specific areas.  The Zoo is under a lot of construction right now and so not very many of the areas are even open.  However the kids had fun even in the short time there and as we were leaving we got them hot chocolate!

Update

It's been a while and I apologize.   Adding number six has made life crazy busy.   Over the last year in 2017 a lot happened.   Conor graduated as per my last post.  Zoe had her last surgery for her Baha and had it activated.  We went as a whole family to Hawaii for our 20th annivarsy and Conor's graduation and Steve's 40th.   Conor started school in the fall as a freshman at OSU studying pre med.  Parker is a Junior , Chase 7th grade, Zoe a 5th grader and the little girls started their last year of preschool.  Zoe competed as a level 5 in the fall and then had a bad finger dislocation and had to take six weeks off as a level 7.  We are hoping that she can compete in the last meet coming up.    Chase's soccer team won the President's cup in the fall and now will travel in June to compete in a state cup.  Parker playing highschool and club soccer this year doing very well.  Hope tried soccer for the first time and didn't like it.  Yiyi had dental surgery in October and is loving school.

Conor's Graduation

Wow how time really flies!  Conor my first born graduated has officially graduated from It seems like yesterday we were in Klamath falls going to college and he was born.  He has made us so proud over the years.

It was surreal seeing him with his gown on

He met his best friend in the middle and Caleb pretended to give him a shot.  Both boys have type I diabetes.
They met in first grade and have been best friends ever since

Giving it another shot

I've taken quite the break from the blog.  I remember I used to hate it when other families I followed took long breaks and I never understood why they did.  Now I do, having a household of eight has pushed me to the limits.  We are just barely keeping our heads afloat with everything going on.  Over the last year since I stopped blogging we had our oldest child turn 18 and complete his senior year.  He is set to graduation in a couple days.  He plans on attending OSU next year.  Parker our next youngest enjoyed playing some club soccer and his symphonic band took 2nd at state.  He also got his permit!  Chase continue playing club soccer and wrestled.  He just completed his first year of middle school and loved it.  Zoe has been very busy competing at level 4 in gymnastics and dancing on two dance teams.  She has a recital coming up that she will perform in 7 different dances.  Hope and Yiyi attended preschool most of the year and really enjoyed it.  Hope tried dance again but didn't care for it and yiyi loved it once again and will be in the recital.  They both will start their last year of preschool in the fall.  This summer we will all venture to Hawaii for a much needed vacation and celebrate our 20th anniversary and Steve's 40th and Conor graduating.

I plan on trying to post once a week but we will have to see!

Gymnastics award ceremony

I know it's been awhile and it's been a good break for me as everything has been so crazy busy at our house.   This year Zoe competed in level 4 gymnastics.  She had a good season and today was the end of season party.  She is on to level 5/7 next year!
