We went to see the Zoo lights for the first time at the Portland Zoo. We were going to go on Saturday but Conor was sick. We went Sunday afternoon, getting there right as the Zoo lights were turned on. Parking was a nightmare, we had one lady back up and block us from getting a spot. Steve ended up dropping us off and parking in another parking lot that had a bus shuttle to the Zoo. The kids really wanted to do the train, so we waited in line for an hour and half to ride a fifteen minute ride around the Zoo. The lights were very beautiful and just seeing their excitement made it worth the difficulties. Here's some pictures from the night.
Looks cold...here in Florida it's a wopping 81 degrees and will be 80 degrees tomorrow on Christmas day. A lot of people have been at the beach all week or swimming in their pool. Gotta love Christmas in Florida. Hot this year, but was cold the last two years and hot 3 Christmas's ago. Cold here is in the 50s to 60s during day and 30s to 40s at night ;-) The lights look really cool at the zoo...I wish our zoo would do something like that, but not sure it's big enough. Hope you guys have a very Merry Christmas and everyone in your household stays healthy! Only about 6 more months before we get to see you again ;-)
